Rev. John Travers

Here lieth the body of the Rev John Travers who departed this life on the 3rd of March 1844 aged 72 years. He was more than 51 years a minister of the Gospel of Christ, the last 19 of which he was pastor of Kinnity, where he spent himself with untiring zeal teaching both old and young that the only hope of a sinner was in Our Crucified Saviour. None other name under Heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. His Christian life shewed he practised what he preached, that Christ was in him the hope of glory. He longed to depart and be with Christ and now his blessed spirit rests in Jesus. Here lieth the body of Marianne Travers who died Sept 15th 1853 aged 78. The peace of God kept her soul resting on her crucified Saviour, Faith, Hope and Love her daily thanks, blessed are the dead which die in the Lord.
