About this graveyard
The Catholic church of Kilruane stands in Lisgarode townland, near the L34 main Nenagh to Cloughjordan road. The Ormond Historical Society recorded a monument in the grounds of the church, memorials and memorial windows within the church itself, and a memorial cross and gates, in its 1982 survey of the parish by Denise Foulkes.

Erected by parishioners, Mother of God parish, Kirby, Liverpool, in memory of their beloved pastor Very Rev. Dean Patrick J. Spain P.P. V.F. Born Kilruane 7th Oct 1913. Ordained at St. Alexanders Bootle on 24th July 1938. Died on 19th July 1968.
