About this graveyard
The Roman Catholic church at Puckane — “Haec domus Dei edificata fuit Anno Domini 1859” — built in 1859 in the first year of the episcopate of Bishop Michael Flannery, Eugene Malone P.P., James Darcy the builder. Its memorials, within the church and in the grounds, commemorate the parish priests and administrators of the united parishes of Monsea, Killodiernan and Cloughprior. Rev. Con Egan
1907
Sacred to the memory of Revd. Con Egan for 16 yrs the zealous enlightened administrator of these united parishes. In him, his mourning people have lost a saintly and beloved priest, a wise counsellor and a never failing generous friend. Possessed of private means, he bestowed it all in charity, this church and that of Carrig was largely renovated by his bounty. Died 1st Oct 1907 in the 69th year of his age and 45th of his sacred ministry.
