In loving memory of Travers Hartley Falkiner, Civil Engineer. Born July 1829, died Oct 1897. Good son, good brother, good friend. In a long and earnest life he was engaged in the construction of many public works at home and abroad, including the M.G.W. main line, its Sligo, Liffey, Galway and Clifden and Ballina and Killala branches. The railways from Zurich to Coire Switzerland, Didcot to Winchester England. The Forth Bridge, Scotland. The Rathmines Waterworks, Pembroke Drainage and Drumcondra Link line, Dublin, and the light railways Headfort to Kenmare and Killorglin to Waterville in Kerry. A loving relative, a generous and considerate employer, he had the affection of all his many friends and the confidence and respect of all who served him. 'Father in Thy gracious keeping, leave we now Thy servant sleeping.'
