Here lies in hope of a blessed resurrection Mrs Mary Carroll, who departed this life on ye 5th of March 1790, aged 50 yrs. She lived beloved and died lamented. The Lord have mercy on her soul. Her affect. daughter Honora Carroll, inconsolable for the loss of one of the best of mothers, caused this tomb to her memory. Reader, let this inform thee what art: with Martha's care have Mary's better part; study the one thing needful, learn to die.
