Here rest the remains of Colonel Robert Henry Hackett, late of the 90th Light Infantry. A brave soldier who died at his residence, Riverston, on the 30th December 1893, from the effects of a wound through the head which destroyed both eyes, received when gallantly leading his men in action at Kambula, South Africa, on the 29th March 1879, aged 54 years.
