History

About this graveyard

In the grounds of the great Catholic church of St. Mary's of the Rosary, completed in 1896, lies the burial place of the bishops and priests who served the parish of Nenagh. A wall panel records the names of all interred here, among them several nineteenth-century Bishops of Killaloe who lived in Nenagh. Their individual tombs and a statue raised by the road-workers of North Tipperary are recorded here as part of the Ormond Historical Society's survey.
