To the memory of Capt. Patrick Starr, Fianna Eireann and I.R.A., killed in action by Crown Forces in Shraharla, Co. Limerick, 1st May 1921, aged 21 yrs. I ndfíl chuimhne ar Chapt. P. Mac an Starraí, a thit ar pháirc an chatha, i Sráth Eirleach, Co. Luimnigh, i Bealtaine 1921. “Go lonraí solas Dé air.” Cumann Náisiúnta na Sean-Fhianna, Sean-óglaigh na hÉireann, Muintir an Aonaigh and cairde eile a thóg. And his brother Volunteer Joseph Starr, Irish Republican Army, died 20th Feb. 1977, aged 77 yrs. Go ndeana Dia trócaire ar a anam.
Note: Capt. Patrick Starr, of Fianna Éireann and the I.R.A., was killed in action by Crown Forces at Shraharla, Co. Limerick, on 1 May 1921, aged 21, during the War of Independence. The memorial carries an Irish inscription and was raised by the Old Fianna veterans and friends.
