Alice Cambridge

1829 · Kenyon Street Graveyard

Beneath this tomb lieth the remains of Alice Cambridge, who died at Nenagh on the 1 day of Jan 1829 aged 67; the greater part of which life hath been usefully spent, both in public and private, by patiently following the Saviour of Mankind, and was enabled to apply to her these words of St. Paul: “Oh death, where is thy sting? Oh death, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin, and the [strength] of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who [saveth] all the nations through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
