History

About this graveyard

Completed in 1860 to replace the old church at Barrack Street, St. Mary's became the Church of Ireland parish church of the Nenagh Union. Its memorials are largely interior — marble wall tablets, engraved brasses, a lectern, a dedicated side chapel and stained-glass windows — commemorating the rectors, bishops, gentry and military families of Victorian and Edwardian Nenagh, among them Bishops and Archdeacons of Killaloe and the Atkinson family of Ashley Park.
